Un totale di 2.775 migranti e rifugiati sono morti nel Mediterraneo dall’inizio dell’anno mentre tentavano di raggiungere l’Europa. Lo ha detto oggi a Ginevra, l’Agenzia delle Nazioni Unite per le migrazioni (Oim).
Dall’inizio dell’anno a oggi, 142.913 migranti e rifugiati sono giunti in Europa via mare, oltre il 75% dei quali in Italia, precisa l’Oim. Nel corso dello stesso periodo dell’anno scorso, erano stati registrati 318.791 arrivi, ricorda l’Oim. Dal primo gennaio all’11 ottobre del 2016, l’Oim aveva registrato 3.193 decessi.
